File Extension Database

Open ACCDB File

A file with the ACCDB extension is an Access 2007/2010 database file. It is the default format for the database files used in the current version of MS Access.

The ACCDB file format replaces the older MDB format used in earlier versions of Access (before version 2007). Includes enhancements such as support for encryption and attachments and binary files.

When working with an ACCDB file in Microsoft Access, a similar MS Access record lock information file, using the LACCDB extension, is automatically created in the same folder to prevent accidental editing of the original file.

This temporary file is especially useful when multiple people use the same ACCDB file simultaneously through a network.

ACCDB files or databases often contain data organized in tables and fields, and can also include custom forms, SQL queries, and other data.
