Open QBI File
The QBI file extension is associated with Quickbooks, which is a line of business accounting software developed and marketed by Intuit, a US-owned company.
Software packages currently being developed by Intuit include:
- TurboTax
- QuickBooks
- QuickBooksOnline
- Pro Connect
- Credit Karma
- QuickBooks Commerce
- Mailchimp
QBI extension files contain images, which contain transactions that have been written until they are posted to the hard drive.
The QBI file keeps changes resident in memory within the data file while QuickBooks has the file open.
When the QBW work file is closed, QuickBooks will automatically delete the QBI file.
In case the QBI file is present when QuickBooks is not running, it probably means that QuickBooks has crashed.
Do not delete the QBI file while the QBW file is open in QuickBooks.
It is important to point out that this type of auxiliary files should not be opened manually, since they are not designed for this purpose, their work is in the background, regardless of the application that is using it.
On the other hand, QBI files are not convertible to another format, therefore, that makes it a closed file, only to be used with QuickBooks.
