HP Graphics Language

In this use, PLT files are plot file types created using the Hewlett-Packard Graphics Language (HPGL).

Here, the PLT file contains output data created through analytical calculations in Tecplot software and can contain multiple tables and data sets.

PLT files contain the data used to render complex 2D and 3D visualizations and can be converted to a static image or an animated visualization.

Tecplot also offers an ASCII text format for data output, however, this format is not recommended for very large data sets as it slows down rendering compared to the binary PLT format of the software.

AutoCAD Plotter Document

As with HPGL, in this application, PLT files are vector-based plot files created by AutoCAD.

Vector-based plotting differs in that lines are used instead of points, in any case the PLT file can be printed using a plotter.

The file used by AutoCAD is based on the HPGL format.

How Can I Open PLT File on Windows

We researched and learned that the best way to open PLT file is to find a PLT file in question in Windows OS File Explorer and double click on it to launch the corresponding application.

Tap on the file. If Android device supports opening the file you downloaded it will open in the corresponding app.
If file does not open you can look for the corresponding app that can open the file by searching Android App Store for the "PLT".
