Nero Burning ROM, better known as Nero, is an optical disc creation program developed by Nero AG.
The software is part of the Nero Multimedia Suite, however it can be found and downloaded as a stand-alone product.
Nero Burning ROM is used to burn and copy optical discs such as CDs, DVDs, Blu-rays.
When you make a compilation of files to be burned on a CD-ROM, using Nero, the NRI file is generated. NRI file contains a list of references to the files and their locations on the hard drive, it does not contain the actual files per se.
If any files have been moved or deleted after being included in the NRI archive, they will not be written to the CD.
That said, manual editing of the NRI file is not necessary.
