FXM files, up to now, have two different applications, namely:
The FXM file is created by WinFax, a program used to send and receive faxes in Windows.
WinFax or WinFax PRO is a software package developed by Microsoft, specifically for Windows, now discontinued, designed to make computers equipped with fax-modems communicate directly with stand-alone fax machines or other similarly equipped computers.
The FXM file contains an electronic copy of a fax sent with a computer modem, it is used to digitally store the fax information and then be sent over the Internet.
In this second case, the FXM file is a 3D motion file created by MessiahStudio.
MessiahStudio is a professional 3D rendering and animation application.
It is available for Windows and OS X but the software has been discontinued and is no longer maintained.
The application offers a suite of animation tools that allow you to modify animated characters non-destructively and create muscle bones for characters using state-of-the-art rendering.
The FXM file saves the movement data of a character in 3D space, through the constructed paths, rotations and scales.
