Edraw Template File Type (EDT) extension is registered and used by Edraw Max, a multipurpose commercial software developed by Edraw Soft on Windows, for storing technical diagram templates. Edraw Max includes a large library of vector EDT templates that makes it easy to use the software and create technical diagrams.
An EDT template file is essentially a plain text file with a series of .XML-style vector shape definitions that are parsed and rendered by Edraw Max. The EDT files are collections of vector shapes that can be used as fully editable, scalable, primitive and complex clipart objects, when creating a new Edraw diagram.
Upon installation, Edraw Max is automatically registered and associated with the EDT file type, that is, it creates the EDT extension association record in Windows OS registry.
If you try to open an EDT template file in a different program, it will most likely display the file's XML tree contents as text.
