The DBD extension file is a demo project created with DemoShield, which is a program for creating installable demos of software applications.

The DBD format is also used for authoring multimedia presentations, and in this case, it is saved in a packaged format that can be distributed via disk or the Web.

DemoShield was previously developed by Macrovision and was integrated with InstallShield, however DemoShield was discontinued in 2007 and Macrovision became Acresso Software as of 2008.
